Demystifying the WIPEOUTFRAME Option in AutoCAD

In AutoCAD, when you create a wipeout using the WIPEOUT command, it’s accompanied by a frame that defines its boundary. The visibility of this frame is controlled through the WIPEOUTFRAME system variable.

How to Use WIPEOUTFRAME:

To adjust how these frames display or print, follow these steps:

  1. Type WIPEOUTFRAME into your command line and hit Enter.
  2. Choose Your Setting: Input one of three values:
    • Type 0: This hides the wipeout frame entirely from view.
    • Type 1: Frames become visible on-screen but won’t show up in plot/print output.
    • Type 2: It makes frames visible both on-screen and in plots/prints.

This setting helps maintain a clean look for final drafts while allowing you flexibility during editing phases.

When to Adjust Frame Visibility?

  • To keep drawings neat: Set frames off (0) before sending them out or printing.
  • For easier editing: Keep frames on (1) so you can see and select them without affecting prints.

By toggling with ‘WIPOUTFRAME’, balance between practicality design process and professionalism final product becomes achievable goal… One less hurdle journey creating flawless architectural masterpieces!
