Downloading the SoftDraft App
App Purchased via the AutoCAD App Store
If you purchased the App from the AutoCAD App Store, you should have been able to download it from the link provided on their web page. The file should download to your computer’s “Download” folder.
We will use the SoftDraft Steel2K App as an example. The app you purchased will have a file name similar to this one with an MSI extension.
File name for Steel2K: SoftDraftLLCSteel2KSImperial.msi
File name for Steel2K2D: SoftDraftLLCSteel2KS2DImperial.msi
If you cannot download the software, please notify SoftDraft Support using the email
support @ softdraft.com. Please include your name or company name under which the App was purchased.
App Purchased via the SoftDraft Website
If you purchased the App via the SoftDraft website, you should have received a sales receipt for your order by now. If not, you should receive it shortly.
You can download the file from the link provided in the sales receipt and save it to your computer’s hard disk. The file should then be downloaded to your computer’s “Download” folder.
We will use the SoftDraft Steel2K App as an example. The app you purchased will have a file name similar to this one with a ZIP extension.
File name for Steel2K: SoftDraftLLCSteel2KSImperial.zip
File name for Steel2K2D: SoftDraftLLCSteel2KS2DImperial.zip
Installing the SoftDraft App
NOTE: Please close your current AutoCAD session.
After downloading, locate the file in your computer’s Download folder.
If downloaded from the App Store, it will have a MSI extension
Double-click the .MSI file to install the App.
If the file has a .ZIP extension, unzip it and double-click the .EXE file to install the App.
Restart AutoCAD for the plug-in to auto-load and become active.
An icon will appear in the “Add-Ins” or “Plug-Ins” tab of the Ribbon Panel for this App.
