Creating a 3D-Shape
NOTE: THIS OPTION IS NOT AVAILABLE IN 2D VERSION.
Creating a 3D-Shape in Plan/Section View You can create a shape in 3D-Solids by selecting a single line in 3D space or in plan or column views. By selecting the 3D toggle you have the following options:
1. Select Shapes (Fig. 14) button from the toolbar.
2. Select 3D-Lines for Extrusions : Y (has the following prompts)
3. Select Lines For Extrusion: Select existing Lines for Shape extrusion
4. Rotate This Shape : Y (has the following prompts)
5. Degree Increment <45>: Rotation amount
6. Continue : Y to continue the rotation or N to exit
Placing a Shape in 3D:
1. Select Shapes button from the toolbar.
2. Select 3D-Lines for Extrusions : N (has the following prompts) When placing a shape in 3D you add the height or length of the shape from within the drawing.
3. Select 3D Shape Location⦠Move the cursor to place the shape location point and click.
4. Rotation Angle⦠Move the cursor to indicate the desired rotation angle and click.
5. Shape Height: Using the cursor select two points for the height or type the exact height in at the prompt.
Note: A 3-D shape is created as a solid extruded polyline
